Pixiv Registration Tutorial

Since still many people are having trouble trying to register for pixiv and most other guides are outdated, I’m going to try making a guide to the best of my abilities. (Also for those who might come across this in the future, the current date is January 18, 2012).

Also please note that I am using Google Chrome, which roughly translates parts of Pixiv for me (but from what I’ve seen, much of the registration is now also available in English).

The Sign Up option is pretty difficult to miss, and many items on the front page are conveniently in English, though I’m only going by the assumption that most of this blog’s followers speak/read English.

On the first page we have the basics. Pixiv ID is what you log in with, and nickname is your display name. The other fields go as followed. I think you’re able to change the language setting after you’ve completed registration too.

Next is the security check. It seems that this is where a problem surfaces for many people? I’m not exactly sure what to say of it, since it worked fine for me. I have heard that trying it on mobile might work though.

But if you have no trouble with the security check, that’s it! You’ll just have to verify your email and everything. I can’t remember exactly, but I think some email services work better than others, so try switching your email if you can’t receive their verification email. Oh, but don’t forget to check your spam inbox and etc first.
